What We Do

NNFCC Ltd has over 17 years of experience in supporting the development of the bio-based chemicals and products. NNFCC is a today commercial consultancy, originally established by the UK Government in 2003 to provide expert and impartial advice to businesses and the public sector regarding the development of the bioeconomy.

The company's mission is to provide clients with a holistic view of feedstock, technology, policy and market development across the bioeconomy, enabling them to make informed business decisions and to develop sustainable business strategies. NNFCC provides a range of facilitation, advisory and consultancy services, and act as a valued programme coordinator and evaluator for UK research and innovation funders. Consultancy services include market analysis, feedstock and logistics planning, sustainability strategy development, initial technology and economic appraisal, project feasibility assessment and policy and regulatory support.

NNFCC's client base includes national UK government departments, funding agencies, universities, and private companies from SME’s to large multi-nationals.

NNFCC's key contributions to the ShikiFactory100 project include: dissemination management, market intelligence to support development of the exploitation strategy, sustainability appraisal and risk assessment for the 10 most promising target compounds. They are leaders of Work Package 9: Exploitation and Dissemination, and are key contributors to Work Package 8: Production Validation and Sustainability Appraisal.

The Principal Investigator for NNFCC in the ShikiFactory100 project is Dr Adrian Higson,  he is also the Dissemination Manager of the project.
