DSM was positioned #2 on the 2018 Fortune Change the World List and has been recognized by the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index for its consistent and longstanding commitment to sustainability, having been named amongst global leaders for the past 14 years and holding the number one position in the sector seven times.

DSM's key contributions to the ShikiFactory100 project are the development of exploitation strategies, automated strain engineering, production scale-up and validation. They are leaders of Work Package 8: Production Validation and Sustainability Appraisal, and are key contributors to Work Package 4: Gene Discovery and Protein Engineering, and Work Package 7: Cell Factory Construction. 

The Principal Investigator for DSM in the ShikiFactory100 project is Dr Hans Roubos, he is also the project's Exploitation Manager.
