Job opportunity at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU)

The Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Biosustainability (DTU Biosustain) at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) is seeking a postdoctoral researcher in adaptive laboratory evolution (ALE) for chemical tolerance

Postdoc in Adaptive Laboratory Evolution for Chemical Tolerance

The position is funded by the European Union Horizon 2020 project SHIKIFACTORY100 (http://shikifactory100.eu). The SHIKIFACTORY100 project aims towards the production of a universe of more than 100 high-added value compounds from the shikimate pathway, a hub in cell metabolism, in two widely used host organisms, Escherichia coli and Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The project consortium assembles key academic and industrial players in Europe covering research in computational design and in vivo implementation of pathways and cell factories. DTU Biosustain’s role in the project is to develop chassis strains for key aromatic precursor production that tolerate high levels of the target molecules. This particular postdoc position will focus on the tolerance component and will integrate with chassis strain development activities at DTU Biosustain. The primary method for generating tolerant strains will be automate ALE utilizing the existing automation platforms at DTU Biosustain.
